Incheon (ICN), Gimpo (GMP)
Incheon is 52 km west of Seoul, on an island. The airport has two terminals — T1 (most airlines) and T2 (Korean Air, Delta, and partners). A free shuttle connects them (18 min). KTX high-speed trains also depart from the airport for other Korean cities.
AREX express to Seoul Station: ₩9,500 (~$7), 43 min. AREX all-stop: ₩4,750 (~$3.50), 58 min. Both depart from the Transportation Center in the airport basement.
KAL Limousine Bus to major hotels: ₩17,000 (~$13), 60-90 min. City buses to Gangnam, Hongdae, Myeongdong: ₩10,000-15,000.
Korean taxis are metered, safe, and honest. Incheon to Seoul costs ₩60,000-80,000 ($42-56). Expensive due to distance but trustworthy.
Kiwitaxi — Fixed prices from ~$45 for Incheon. Vehicle choice and no language barrier.
GetTransfer — Bids from $35 for Incheon to Seoul. Cheaper than metered taxis for this long route.

Kakao T (Korea's Uber equivalent) works at both airports. Well-integrated and reliable but interface is in Korean.
AREX train (43 min to Seoul Station, ₩9,500/$6.70) is excellent. All-Stop train (59 min, ₩4,750/$3.35) is the budget option.
Incheon is world-class but far: Regularly voted the world's best airport, ICN is on an island 52 km from Seoul. The distance means transport is either fast and expensive (KTX, taxi) or slow and cheap (all-stop train, bus).
T-money card: Korea's rechargeable transit card works on metro, buses, taxis, and convenience stores. Buy one at the airport for ₩4,000 and load it with won. It gives small discounts on public transport and makes transfers between metro lines free.
Destination in Seoul: Seoul is huge. Gangnam (south) and Myeongdong/Insadong (center) are both popular but far apart. Confirm your hotel's neighborhood — it affects both journey time and price from Incheon.
Late arrivals: The last AREX train departs around 11:30pm. After that, night buses run to select destinations (₩8,000-15,000). A pre-booked transfer is the most reliable option for flights arriving after midnight.

Prices for a sedan (up to 3 passengers). GetTransfer prices are typical winning bids. See our full comparison for Seoul for detailed pricing by route.
Currency: KRW (won). Have some local currency for small purchases — many taxi meters display in local currency.
Language: Korean (limited English, but signs are bilingual) Having your hotel address saved on your phone (screenshot or Google Maps pin) is always helpful for drivers.
Tipping: Not customary in South Korea. The price is the price.
Safety: South Korea is extremely safe. Incheon Airport is world-class. Taxis are metered and honest — just expensive due to the 52 km distance.
SIM / connectivity: Korean SIM cards from SKT, KT, or LG U+ at Incheon. Tourist SIMs from ₩22,000 (~$16) for 5 days unlimited data. Pocket Wi-Fi rental also available.
Tip 1: Incheon is very far from Seoul (60 km). The AREX train at $6.70 is the smart choice for solo travelers.
Tip 2: Gimpo is domestic-focused but much closer to Seoul. The metro connects directly.
Tip 3: Korean tollway fees (₩8,000-10,000) are usually included in pre-booked transfers but added to taxi meters.
Tip 4: For transfers to Gangnam area, pre-booking can be better value than AREX + taxi from Seoul Station.
